Anteros: Love Returned is a Straight 8 film - shot on one cartridge of Super 8mm film, with all editing done in camera. The developed roll of film was the final product. It meant meticulously planning each shot, because there was literally no room for error. A film about the pain of nostalgia and happier times, it follows a man who carries his memories of a past lover physically in a roll of film. It riffs on Wong Kar-Wai’s Happy Together and the surreal visuals of David Lynch.
